CHARLOTTE (Sept. 13, 2018) — Because of Hurricane Florence, Freightliner Trucks has postponed an event originally scheduled for Monday, September 17, where Charlotte was slated to be honored as one of North America’s Hardest Working Cities. The event will be rescheduled for a later date.
“Our thoughts are with the people of the Carolinas, especially the first responders, government and utility workers, and volunteers who are putting in long hours to ensure everyone’s safety,” said Mike McHorse, director of channel marketing, Daimler Trucks North America. “The strength and resiliency of Carolinians are an important part of what makes Freightliner Trucks proud to be a member of this community.”
Charlotte earned the honor after an economic data review showed it was one of the top cities in North America for investments in infrastructure, building projects, and job creation. Since the launch of the Freightliner Trucks Hardest Working Cities program in 2015, 11 cities across North America have been awarded the title: Dallas, Des Moines, Detroit, Edmonton, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York City, Salt Lake City, Seattle/Tacoma, and Toronto.
