Volvo Trucks North America dealer Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment has expanded its footprint into Idaho, Montana, and further into Washington state by acquiring Transport Equipment, Inc. (TEI). The move strengthens Bruckner’s presence in the Northwest and reinforces its commitment to delivering high-quality service and industry-leading support across its growing network.
“This acquisition represents more than just growth—it’s about uniting two highly respected dealer networks to enhance customer support and maximize uptime,” said Peter Voorhoeve, president, Volvo Trucks North America. “At Volvo Trucks, we recognize dealers’ vital role in providing seamless service solutions. Bruckner’s has long demonstrated a customer-first approach, and by integrating TEI’s expertise and legacy, they will further elevate the level of service and support available to fleets in these key markets.”
For over 40 years, TEI has been a trusted name in the trucking industry, operating from three locations in Lewiston, Idaho, Missoula, Montana, and Spokane, Washington. Steve and Betty Bidlake founded the company in 1983 after selling their trucking business, which had grown from a single logging truck to nearly 100 units hauling various goods. TEI initially specialized in trailers before expanding into truck sales in 1985. Generations of the Bidlake family have contributed to the company’s growth and success, with customer service as the cornerstone of its operations.
“We are excited to expand our presence in the Northwest and continue the legacy built by the Bidlake family. As a second-generation dealership, they have established a reputation for exceptional customer service and a ‘do what it takes’ attitude. We are committed to upholding that standard with the existing team,” said Brian Bruckner, president of Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment.

Bruckner’s Truck Sales is a third-generation, family-operated business and a leader in the trucking industry since 1932. Founded by B.M. “Benny” Bruckner Sr., the company has remained family-owned and operated, steadfastly committed to service and excellence. Today, his sons Chris and Brian Bruckner continue this tradition, providing customers with premier trucks, trailers, parts, and services across the U.S.
Since 1932, Bruckner’s has prioritized investing in people to deliver top-tier service. TEI has built a strong foundation by equipping its team and facilities with the best tools and training. We are excited to build upon their success and continue delivering best-in-class trucks, trailers, parts, and service to our new customers in Idaho, Montana, and Washington,” said Chris Bruckner, vice president of Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment.
With this acquisition, Bruckner’s now operates 41 locations, serving customers across 10 states. Each location is a Volvo Certified Uptime Dealer, and the company maintains 33 mobile service trucks to maximize customer uptime. All TEI locations will continue operating under the same schedule with no changes to contact details.
As an industry leader, Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment has also played a pivotal role in advancing the adoption of zero-tailpipe emission transportation. Bruckner’s was the first Volvo Trucks Certified Electric Vehicle (EV) Dealer in Texas and Oklahoma. With the acquisition of TEI, Bruckner’s adds two additional Certified EV Dealership locations in Montana and Washington, further expanding support for fleets adopting the Volvo VNR Electric to meet sustainability goals.
