Denton, Texas-based Peterbilt Motors Company recently announced the opening of its newest Peterbilt Technician Institute campus in Rancho Cucamonga, California. It represents the company’s fifth PTI across the United States.
Since its beginnings, the PTI program has trained and certified more than 600 technicians with a 95% placement rate at Peterbilt service dealerships. “The PTI program helps meet the Peterbilt dealer network’s growing demand for entry level qualified diesel technicians. The unique value proposition for graduates of PTI is finding its graduates jobs that often turn into long-term careers,” said Brian Brooks, program manager, Peterbilt Technician Institute, in a press release.
Every PTI student is fully prepared for a career in the diesel industry and garners 12 Peterbilt certifications. They also earn certifications for the Paccar MX-11 and MX-13 engines. PTI is part of the Universal Technical Institute network of schools.
“The 50% growth of the Peterbilt dealer network this decade ensures that there are plenty of long-term career opportunities with our dealers, many of which begin as a diesel technician,” concluded Brooks.
