The American Transportation Research Institute released this week an updated list of local and state idling rules that aid truck drivers avoid fines for idling overly long term.
ATRI added six new idling laws to the list, including Madison, Wisconsin; Sandy City, Utah; Newark, Delaware; Ithaca, NY; Logan, Utah; and Summit County, Utah.
“Even though enforcement has a tendency to range between jurisdictions, together with areas including California and New York being significantly more active, regulations high-light communities who are concerned about emissions from idling cars,” said Mike Tunnell, ATRI’s Director of environmental Research. “We advocate trucking companies to be mindful of the rules not only to avoid fines but to be great neighbors in the communities in which they work”
